Authors: Ruth Vanita and Salim Kidwai

Currently, same-sex relationships in South Asia are considered alien. People are unaware the history of homosexuality in the region. This has been just one outcome of British imperialism and Victorian prudery; they obliterated our indigenous cultures and histories.

Fortunately, South Asians like Ruth Vanita and Saleem Kidwai have been helping us rediscover our lost gay heritage. Vanita and Kidwai have together and individually produced seminal works on “same-sex” relationships.
